Natalie,

We had a similar situation this past Fall. My older CAH son who is now 5 1/2 had a very persistent cough (really hacker like) for weeks. It was so horrid sounding that I would hear him all night long. I can see how it could easily give one a headache or even more so cause vomitting. Fortunately, we some how dodged both and just had the cough to deal with. And, yes we too unsuccessfully tried the antibotics also thinking it was sinuitis.

After multi trips to the Ped we went a totally different route thinking it was maybe allergies. We began using the nasal spray Rhinocort. Huh, and wouldn’t you know it...it worked! A simply spray in each nostril once a morning did the trick! His cough subsided almost instantly and was gone within a couple of days.

Perhaps you can ask your Ped to see what they think.

I really do hope you find an answer soon!!!
