Welcome and Congradulations

Hi Tony,

Welcome to you and congrats on the birth of your new little baby boy. I think most everyone here has been in your shoes at one point and it is very scary to have a baby that you expect to be born "perfect" to the worlds standards.

When our son was born 8 years ago and then diagnosed with CAH five weeks later I thought things would never be normal again. I felt like we just had a sick baby and that our entire world revolved around CAH. Now years later things are normal. He has to take meds every day , we watch him closer then the other four kids when it comes to sickness and he see’s a doctor more often then anyone else in the family but other then that he’s no different. Nobody sees a sick child when they see our little boy they just see a normal eight year old. And best of all we don’t see a sick child either.

Things will get easier like everyone else has said. You’ll do great and there is a lot of advice here for the taking all you need to do is post and ask and I’m sure you will get the anwsers you need . No question is wrong or stupid so ask every single little one that you have. You can feel comfortable here with people who know what your going through and we’ve all had most of the questions that you have too.

The best advice that I can give as a CAH mom is to ask questoins about every little thing. I would call our endo about everything. In the middle of the night, while he was at church, any time of the day and he was always helpful. He knows so much and we are just learning. I didn’t have this board then so I could have spared him some late night calls had I known about this board. :) One question could save your little guys life so never be afraid to ask.
