Louise-  I was going to post this but I have been super busy with my 13 month old salt waster also.  We were admitted to the hospital last weekend via the ER we went for a stomach bug but were admitted due to a very high BP 170/102!  I just about lost it they checked it several times and it stayed hight the entire time in the ER.  My daughters sodium after vomiting for about 8 hours was still 137 her potassium only 2.9 so they gave her extra steroids in the ER.  I gave her the solu-cortef injection at home before the ER but I was still concerned because the vomiting just kept getting worse.

I have had 2 endo’s drop the ball on her BP since she has been born.  Two weeks ago my new endo did a renin level because her BP was high in his office also.  We still have not got the results back!  My first endo knew her BP was high also and I had to fight to get her to decrease some of her florineff then.  She is now taking 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 tab at night.  My daughter was also put on Norvasc at discharge for her BP until we can get some of the florineff out of her system.  I am sorry I cannot help you on the issue of sodium level because it seems like my daughters have been in the normal range.  The nephrologist went ahead and did an ultrasound of her kidneys which looked fine.  Next week they are doing an echo to check her heart.  I check her BP at home but I never get anything that high like we did in the ER.
