Test results

We just got my son’s test results back from his endo(in the mail, but that’s another issue).  I am a little confused.   They told me to lower the dosage of his florinef to 1 pill in the am and 1/2 pill in the pm.  He was getting 1 pill am and 1 pill pm.  Then they said that his "cortisol dosage is a bit on the high side (14mg/m2), but would prefer to lower florinef first and then see how growth and lab studies go."  His 17OHP is 189ng.  Does florinef dosage affect cortiol dosage?  I am little confused why they wouldn’t change his cortisol dosage and instead do a "wait and see".  Also doses anyone know what they look at to determine if florinef dosage is to high/low?  Is it the bicarbonate and calcium levels, because it looks like that portion of his test are abnormal.  My son is only 5 1/2 months old so I am still trying to get a grasp on the terminology and numbers.  I can’t wait until I can get all this CAH info figured out!!

Thanks in advance!
