re: Test results

Hi Sara,

My daughter is the same age and is taking the same amount of florinef (1 morning, 1/2 night).  I usually do not see test results on paper, but when I speak with the nurse she refers to the potassium levels...but I am not a good athority on that.

When my daughter was born they did not immediately give her florinef.  The doctor said that a high cortif dosage can mask the need for the florinef and it wasn’t until she came down off of the stress dosage that the need for florinef was apparent.

My nurse also tells me it is much better to have a little too much of the cortif than underdose.  (Not that you want to overdose on purpose)  So I can understand changing one med and then retesting before determining a change in the other.  Do they plan to do a lab shortly after changing the florinef?

I would definately call your doctor and request that they explain the test results, after all that is what they are there for!  They should be willing to answer your questions, and if not, you may want to look for a second opinion.

Hope any of my babble made sense!
