CAH, athletes, and drug-testing

My contact on the IOC anti-doping committee had this to say about in regards to being asked about drugs taken for CAH and athletics:

As for your question, the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) has a "Prohibited List" of all banned drugs and methods, which should be found at this URL:  http://www.wada-ama.org/en/dynamic.ch2?pageCategory_id=47 otherwise it can be found at http://www.wada-ama.org

Undoubtedly the kind of drugs you are mentioning are included in the list, however, concerning some drugs it is possible to obtain a "Therapeutic Use Excemption" TUE, so any athlete in this situation should try to obtain a TUE through the body which governs his or hers particular sport, where they should also be able to get assistance and more information.

If "caught" with any of these drugs in the metabolism withouth having a TUE, it will render a person liable to be punished for using doping.

Hope this will be helpful

Best regards,
