Our endo has us giving our son a dose at 4-4:30am, after school at 4pm and at bedtime.  He told us when he put him on this schedule that you can get away with only taking the morning dose, but he worries about the patient get ill during the course of the day and that is why he spreads out the last 2 doses.  I hope this helps.
