Injections to halt rapid growth
Mar. 3rd, 2005   1:36pm

My daughter and I take her son to N.Y. next week for his annual check-up.  He is doing fantastic, as he always has, knock on wood, but we are alittle concerned about his rapid growth in height this year and have a fear he may have to start the injections daily to itercede and slow down his growth.  His meds seem to be working well, but he is going to be 12 in April and is already about 5’6", and skinny as a bean pole.  His dad is 6’2"  and his mom is 5’7" so we were expecting him to reach a height of about 6’, but the rate he is going alarms us.  We don’t want him to reach 5’8" and stop growing, but don’t want his height to go to the extreme.  Has anyone experienced taking the shot or having to give it to one of their children for the purpose I described?  Thanks for your comments.
