 Doris,

Welcome to the board! You will find a wealth of information on this board and Kelly Leight at the Cares foundation. Most of all, what you are going through is just that..... a feeling of being helpless. With your Granddaughters disorder the most important thng is to do what you ARE doing and seek education and research about CAH. Second ...seeing your son in pain and trying so hard in a desperate way to fix things and be the rock he thinks he is suppose to be, is so tough for us as Mother’s. All we can do is tell them we support there decisions they make for there baby’s care/education/welfare and childrearing in general. THIS is easier SAID than done ! LOL I use help by taking the grandchildren as much as I could to give my son and his  wife FREE time. They need to nurture themselves and doing so keeps them from getting baby burnout and helps the family. LOL PRAISE PRAISE AND PRAISE some more on how great you think he is doing as a parent. They need to know from someone who has been there that they are doing a good job. Who better to hear it from than Mom! Talk openly and communicate your positives about childrearing. Most of all just enjoy your granddaughter and treat her as same as the others. She is fragile ..but she won’t break. Find a system that works for the family on protocol for emergencies. Keep a journal of her illnesses for future reference if needed. I have a three ring binder I keep info on CAH /Doctors numbers/ instructions for emergencies and  record of immunizations ect. This Binder goes wherever my Granddaughter goes with her meds. This will get easier and you will sigh a breath of relief someday. So hang in there and stay with us and learn what you can to help. We are here for support and knowledge. Prayers for your family from us !

Sincerely,

 Cherry Lane
