Hi Susan, I also had my gallbladder taken out last year. 75% full of stones. Can’t believe I went that long without an actual attack, but when I had one...oh my gosh it hurt! So I feel for ya, I only had 3 attacks before I had mine removed. (very small incisions) My cystic duct was also abnormally large, and my sister had 2 bile ducts. Don’t know what that means, probably just a family defect. Almost all of my aunts, my mom, my sis, and myself have had our gallbladders removed. My grandmother died of gallbladder cancer. Although she had 7 children, I feel she had locah OR was a strong carrier. She was a wonderful, short, kinda hairy woman with a deep voice.

Anyway my brother needs to have his removed but he is afraid of surgery, I guess when it gets bad enough he will.

Recovery should be pretty easy, other than the air that gets trapped up in your shoulder blades and back. I also had an ECRP done and had a stone in my liver, and several blocking my bile duct. Heart burn was daily at first, then after about a month everything was fine concerning the tummy area.

I know you will do fine if you have it done, let us know. Take care
