You want to start NOW for it to be most effective.  Your wife will have to decide if she wants to do a CVS or Amnio to find out the sex of the baby.  A CVS is done at around 10 weeks pregnant. An Amnio is later on.  If the baby is a boy, then she can stop the dex.  If the baby is a girl then you have to wait for the genetic testing to come back to see if the baby has CAH or not before you can stop the dex.

My biggest piece of advice is don’t stop the dex cold turkey.  Taper it off if you find that you don’t need to take it because you are having a boy or a non affected girl.
