hi isaac! congrats on your little girl and welcome. i have a 14 month old swcah son. he is on florinef (which is fludrocortisone) and cortef-not prednisone. MOST children are placed on 3 x day cortef rather than prednisone and switched to prednisone as adults, when growth is no longer an issue. however, some docs do use prednisone with good results.

one thing......losing weight and decreased appetite are USUALLY symptoms of undersupression and therefore steroids would be increased, of course this would also depend on labwork, etc. i am not very familiar with dosing of prednisone. maybe others will be and can help.

anyway, best of luck to you and things become clearer as they get older. our hardest time with our son was the 6-10 month age regarding meds and illnesses.
