I have many allergies. Although my doc said I really wouldn’t be allergic to the meds, I decided not to take any chances and I wear gloves when cutting her meds and putting them into oral syringes. (She swallows the meds but the pieces are so small that we found the oral syrniges handy to hold the meds for the day. They even have lids.) When I give her the meds I do not touch the meds as I just tip the syringe into her mouth. This may help cut down on exposure. I don’t know about breathing, maybe a surgical mask when splitting??
