Feeling something is not right with newborn.  Appearance at birth was odd.  This was the hairiest child I have ever seen in my life -  Not the lanugo(sp?) type hair.  I would say she was full term +.  She has gobs of of body and face hair.  Head area appeared very swollen after  labor and finally c-section.  Delivery room doctor  thought for some reason she was and boy.  He corrected the error by saying he only looked at the head before passing her to the nurse.   Genital area looked normal to me.  This baby sleeps a lot (frequently have to wake her to feed) and now at 6 weeks out has only added 2 ounces to her 8lb 12 oz birth weight.  Dr. getting concerned and focusing on a young mother maybe not following feeding instructionsclose enough.   Currently hospitalized for evaluation.   I’ve been surfing the net looking for information ever since this child was born(even before the nutrition issues became apparent.

Surely CAH Testing is routine in Texas and would ID’d quickly?
