J.A.Carrie-
I currently have a 2 1/2 year old boy with CAH and a 2 month old son who is only a carrier. When we got pregnant I too took dex and chose to have a CVS. I am so happy that I did and (though I won’t be having any more children) I would have it done again no second thoughts. I wanted to have a CVS done so I could find the results out sooner and get off the dex sooner. (the only side affect of Dex for me was 12 pounds on in the first 12 weeks.) I was able to find comfort in having my CVS since I was going to the same highly qualified Genetisist that my OB was going to for her own CVS. CVS is slightly higher risk than amnio-- but I was told to only have someone trained and has done many, many many....in his/her practice. In my situation I was 10w 5d at time of CVS and found out at 10w 6d that it was a boy and 11w that he was only a carrier.
The best of luck--- whatever decision you make will be the best---just find someone who knows what they are doing, and has done a ton of them.
