The high-risk OB I was working with explained that the risks with CVS are only slightly higher than with amnio.  He did specifically mention though, that he was comparing Abdominal CVS to Amnio, because that was what we were planning to do.  I’m not sure if Vaginal CVS carries a lot higher risk.  That would definitely be something to discuss with your OB.
