re: CAH & Flonase

My mom takes Flonase and she is on quite a bit of steriods for her emphesyma. BUT she doesn’t take steriods to replace what her body doesn’t make like CAH. My daughter has allergies and her ped. did not want to put her on the Flonase. She let us use another brand with a little bit of steriods. I can’t remember the name if it because I no longer have it because it didn’t really work. So I switched to an over the counter nose spray and it works pretty good. Also we had her adenoids out and believe this helped her stuffy nose that always got sinus infections tremendously. But we decided on that because of her snoring and constant sinus infections. My daughter is on Advair Diskus (an inhaled steroid)  as a maintenance medicine she inhales daily for her asthma. Her endo. and asthma doc. said it really wouldn’t add to her levels that much but I felt it did too much. We had to adjust her meds. when we started her Advair diskus. So even if the endo. feels it is ok, there still is going to be an added steriod to her body. So this is what I decided. Weigh the pros and cons of going on the extra steriod. If going on the nose spray is going to improve her health, then that may be worth it. I hope this helped Wendy-Lee. Hope all is well!
