kayJust a word of warning about over the counter nasal sprays. If they contain a decongestant, be careful. You can get dependent on them. If you use them regularly, you get what is called a rebound effect, meaning that when you stop them the congestion comes back only worse. Also, long term they can do damage to tissues in the nasal passages. Steroid sprays will not have these effects If they affect the amount of steroid appreciably, you may want to ask about reducing the oral medication, but we never found that to be the case.
