My now almost 3 year old had 2 episodes very similar to these -and we think it was related to not eating enough ------kind of like a hypoglycemic problem (which is listed as a sign of crisis on one of our information sheets).  Both times, we had been at my mother-in-law’s the day before & he didn’t eat much, too busy playing with his cousins.  He fell asleep on the way home really early -about 7pm (normally goes to bed about 9:00pm).  In the morning when he didn’t wake around his normal time, I went to check on him, -he coiuld barely look at me when I tried to wake him.  I brought him downstairs, and he was just out of it & limp -couldn’t keep his eyes open...I quickly made him oatmeal & gave him juice w/a triple dose of Cortef.  It took a bit, but he perked up gradually --the second time it happened , it was very similar.  Now, we closely monitor that he’s had enough to eat (he’s not diabetic).  Our endo said we could get a glucometer if we thought we needed it just to be certain, we haven’t as of yet.  So far just watching his food intake has been good.  Also, our ennnndo said that if we were concerned at night that he might not have had enough, it woul be okay to give a double dose that night just to be safe.  We luckily haven’t had to.

These episodes were very scary!!! -almost worse than when he had the flu when he was a baby, as with that, at least I knew to be worried -these other incidets just came out of the blue.
