LynnTJulia, I am sorry to hear Chelsea is having trouble. It is very frustrating trying to figure out the things our kids go through even when they don’t have CAH.
I agree with the others with checking for the hypoglycemia and her blood sugar levels. I would have some bouts of low blood sugar when I had exerted myself and hadn’t eaten well that day. I always recovered quickly when I drank some orange juice.
One other thing that I noticed.....it seems, with the exception of the "sitting around the house", it appears that it is all activities where she would be either holding her breath or blowing it out over a period of time. Even singing in a choir requires you to hold a note sometimes at great length. Perhaps one of her teachers can show her how to breath correctly from the diaphram. Also make sure she is getting enough fluids before she goes to her lessons. Headaches can be a sign of dehydration.
If she is nervous performing in front of people this too could cause a problem with not enough cortisol to help her deal with it.
Just one more thought. When my daughter (carrier CAH) was 9 she began having bouts of hyperventilating. She said that she couldn’t stop it and she felt if she did she wouldn’t be able to breath again. She was a little dizzy and sweaty. I slept with her all night with my hand on her chest just to make sure nothing was wrong. She did just fine. No matter how much I assured her that she would continue to breath even if she didn’t try it didn’t help. I told her that she continued breathing while she slept and she would continue to breath on her own all day. One day she came home from the bus stop really laboring to breath. I had a moment where I doubted my "mother’s instincts" and took her to her ped.
He examined her and looked right into her eyes, smiled at her and said "Rachael, I promise you that no matter what you do you will NOT stop breathing"! That was the last time we had to deal with that problem. That was the best $25 co-pay I have ever spent.
I hope you find an answer for her soon. It sounds like she is fighting off puberty with the Lupron and there is SOOO much angst that goes along with it on top of everything else.
I will say a prayer for her.
