For those who compound the cortef...a question
Mar. 23rd, 2005   8:08pm

Today was the first day we tried the capsules. This morning I was able to just put it in the back of Erik’s throat (who’s almost 9 months old) and gave him some bottle and he was fine. Well, for the 2 pm dose, he had it figured out what I was trying to do and ended up throwing up a little, but then chewed the capsule. I think the problem was a used water instead of formula. But here’s my real question...how am I supposed to give him 2 of these (they’re 1mg each) at 10pm tonight when he’ll be fast asleep? I’m sure one day this’ll be no problem, and I think if it was a smaller pill like the florinef, I wouldn’t be so worried, but these seem so big for a 9 month old. The pharmacist said it couldn’t be dissolved in a liquid, so don’t try a bottle, but I could out it in some applesauce...but at 10pm when he’s already been asleep for a couple hours?

Any suggestions  would be really appreciated.  He just started sleeping through the night and I don’t want to completely wake him up at 10 if not necessary. Thanks for you help.
