Hello. My son has SWCAH and is 6 months old. He has been taking plain ol’ table salt since he was diagnosed at 10 days old. At first, it was REALLY hard getting the salt in him. I tried several different ways before coming up with something that would work. I would mix 1/4 tsp. salt in a small amount of white grape juice and he would drink it three times a day. I would pour it into a bottle nipple and he would drink it that way, until he figured out what I was doing and would refuse it. So....for the last several months I’ve been having to do it the "cruel" way...drawing the salt/juice into a syringe, and then putting it in his mouth close to the back where he basically has no choice but to swallow. He actually seems to be getting used to it. He also takes 1/2 a pill of Florinef every night.
