I have posted this "formula" here before. When my daughter started to take the pills we had a horrific time getting them in her. (we had to change to the pill form because the suspension went bad because of the manufacture) So we wanted to mimic the suspension she was used to. It was kind of thick and gooey. We wanted something that would hold or suspend the crushed pill. We notices with the juice we tried with the crushed up pill, it left some residue on her tongue and she gagged or spit it out. SO we found this big jug of punch concentrate. It was orange. The flavor my daughter was used to.  So we crushed up her pill in a pill crusher we got from the pharmacy. We crushed it into a fine powder. Then we took a 3 ml syringe and sucked up about 1 ml of the orange concentrate and put it into the crushed pill. We mixed it up a bit and then drew the mixture back up into the syringe. (you will notice the amount of the mixture is more now. You wouldn’t think the pill added that much to this concentrate amount but it does). That is why I tell you to only try a little bit of concentrate at first.  We used a rubber spatula so we made sure every bit of the pill was in there. It took some time to get down pat but it worked WONDERFUL. It suspended the pill in the concentrate and it slid right down her throat. We would give her the first does at 5:30 am. We would sit her up a bit, count to three and then slowly squirt it in her mouth. Making sure she was alert enough to start the swallowing. She would follow with some water and fall right back to sleep. It was wonderful. When she was an infant we would unscrew the lid to her bottle, put the nipple part in her mouth and then squirt the medicine into the nipple. She would suck it right up. As a matter of fact they sell things like that. They look like a pacifier but part of it has a measuring cup on the other end. They suck down their meds. this way. The amounts of concentrate you will use will depend on how much of the pill you crush. Experiment a bit. Good luck. Today my daughter is almost 8 and chews the awful thing. Says it tastes good. Ick. She decided to do that one day as I crushed her pills. She asked to taste it at age 3. After that she chewed them all.
