My Ashley, 8yrs, SWCAH used the sodium choloride until she was two years old and then the endo recommended that she be taken off of it. He stated that the florinef was enough and that regular table salt would be enough as well.  She likes to salt her veggies and certain meats.  She really loves "season-all"  she always wants me to put it on everything.  Her levels have always been good.  I always wondered if she really needed to have the sodium choloride to begin with.
