My son is 13 months old and is also a salt waster. He has been in daycare since he was 6 months old. I found a home based care situation where the woman who is caring for my son does so out of her house and watches 4 other children as well. We discussed his SWCAH with her before she began watching him. We asked her if she had any training as far as giving shots in case he ever went into crisis, gave her basically a crash course on CAH, and explained his other meds. We also made sure she knew what to watch for in case he began going into crisis. We have never had a problem since he has been there. I have also worked in several day care centers myself and know that the staff at most daycares have been trained to handle all sorts of illnesses and conditions because of the many different types of illnesses that come through the building. As long as you thoroughly screen the center or individual, your daughter should be in good hands. Hope this information helps you. Good luck.Robin
