corriHi Jen
I do daycare at home and i have a almost 2 year old swcah boy. And believe me i am so glad i get to stay home wiht him and not have to worry about sending him to someone that does not take his doseing schedule seriously. I can also tell you that being a licensed provider that each state has their own regulations about meds. I live in Nebraska and they recently changed the regulations on meds. the parents have to sign a form stating that i am competent enough to give their child med (which i think is dumb because if they dont feel that i am competent enough why do they trust me to watch their child) but then they also have to give me written directions for each medication that i have to keep on file and for shots there has to be dr’s ok for me to do it. with that being said you will need to find out your states regualtions and make sure you find a daycare that yo trust and i am partial to home daycares because before doing daycare at home i worked in a daycare center and i dont care for them that again is my opinion. make sure you start to look early and look at many different daycare and if you find one you think you like then go and follow up unsceduled. I know in NE i can not deny any parent to see their child or to come get their child at any time i know there are some that will tell parents they can only come at certain times and that just seems fishy to me.
i hope this helps feel free to email me if you have any questions i can help you with
take care
