My daughter and I passed thrush back and forth for a long time when she was a baby. You have to treat your nipples as well as baby’s mouth. Take lots of acidolphilis and eat low sugar and white flours. Thrush is yeast which thrive on these types of foods. The prescription meds didn’t work for us. There are many strains of thrush and some are more virilent than others. After many months of pain for me and my daughter we finally tried homeopathic borax (NOT the laundry type. These are little sugary pills in small jars found at health food stores). These I took under my tongue and I dissolved them in a little water and with a gauze wrapped around my finger I would swish around in my daughter’s mouth. The thrush was gone very rapidly once I started doing this. Yes, it is a pain as you are supposed to clean often especially after nursing. Be very aggressive on thrush to get rid of it completely. By the way you can safely give acidolphilis to a baby too. (These are the healthy bacteria normally found in our bodies that eat the yeast. Sometimes, especially after antibiotics the balance gets out of whack.) Good luck, Julia
