My obgyn won’t treat me with the dex unless I see the genetic counselor first.  When we saw the gc, she said since he was apprehensive about the dex, she would refer us to a neonatal specialist who will prescribe the dex and monitor it.  So, I guess that is going to be up to your obgyn and what they feel comfortable with.  The dexamethasone treatment is kind of a must have if you want to stop the virilization of a female baby.  I would just talk to your obgyn and see what they want you to do.
