We chose to have our 6 year old SWCAH daughter’s sugery when she was just a few months old.  That was OUR choice and the choice we made for OUR daughter, however everyone has a right to choose what they think is best for their child.  We believe we made the right decision for our daughter at the time as we felt the affect of "looking different" would be detrimental to her psychological and mental health and have adverse long-term affects.   As I said, there are different choices and different reasons for these choices.  Congratulations on your new baby, where are you from?
