Chris DA couple of years ago my son’s florinef was switched from the white round Squibb version to a different kind, then yet another different kind the next month. Shortly after these changes, his labs were off and he was thirstier than normal.
I asked his endo if the florinef switch could be the issue. She said it was unlikely, but not unheard of. Apparently companies use different bonding agents in their formulations. The person taking the meds can sometimes metabolize them differently.
We were not able to know for sure whether the changes in my son’s levels and thirst could be attributed to the florinef change. His levels were a little wacky during that time anyway. Since then however, I have always made sure we don’t arbitrarily switch around just in case.
