This can be a sign of high testosterone levels.  Or it can be something totally different.  I had a condition at one time called (not sure of spelling) alupecia.  I had a bald spot in the back of my head the size of a golf ball, found when I was getting a hair cut.  The doctors said it was stress related and the hair did grow back, and it never happened again.  Definitely ask the doctor!!!
