Betsy, do you really believe that by her talking to these people and them printing her thoughts will help her?  How?Unfortunately we live in a very judgmental society and I agree this young lady needs help but not through the media!  She will judged even more and how do you know that something that arises as a direct result of this publicity wont push her over the edge???  I certainly hope not and realise that she is going through a very difficult time, but as concerned parent asks - why are the medical profession not helping her? You should know what the press are like and maybe it wouldn’t bother you if your son was asked if he was actually a girl due to this article then bullied, which is rife in schools.  When someone goes public they have to made aware that there can be repercussions not only to others but also to them. I sincerely hope this young lady does receive some support and help, and the article does not have the reverse effect.
