ToniI don’t really think it is strange that the story differs. The teenage magazine were after sensationalism, did not check medical facts and were paying money for the story. Writing for CARES is far more appropriate and Jennifer gets my admiration for that choice. The readers of CARES will all have an interest and an understanding of the condition and if any medical errors were made in the initial draft they were no doubt edited. This article was therefore worthwhile and unlike the trashy magazine article will benefit CAH families and I am sure they will appreciate her honesty, even if they don’t necessary agree with all her views.
Marie, I did not say you have to be a parent to understand how a teenager feels, but you do have to be a parent to understand the unconditional love and protective feeling they have towards their child.
