re: Testing by 24 hour urine collection

Hi Hope-

My 12 yr. old, SW-CAH son has been tested by way of 24 hr urine testing and blood testing since he was 3 or 4 yrs. old. Our endo feels that 24hr urine testing is a far more accurate reading as it gives the result over a 24hr period, rather than just at the moment of a blood draw - which can be rather subjective, depending on the child and the situation in which the draw is taken (ex. screaming, very upset child). The test performed with the urine is called "urine pregnantriole". The other 3 tests that you mention are the 3 we have blood drawn for. The lab most frequently used is Esoterix in California. Hope this helps.
