3 month old sw-cah no longer wants to nurse
Apr. 8th, 2005   5:32pm

Hello- this is my first posting. I am Carly Reed in Lexington, Kentucky.

My 3 month old has just recently begun refusing to nurse and prefers her bottles.  Two reasons I can think of are because they are easier and because that is how we give her the sodium chloride.

She cries when I offer her the breast until a bottle is presented. Does anyone have any advice on what they did as far as nursing and how much milk they used to mix with the sodium chloride.

I will pump out every bottle if I have to, but I would rather nurse her the majority of the time.

I have been following the message board since January. That is when our daughter Minnie was born.

I’m open to any suggestions. My Lactation consultant feels it might be a lost cause since she might prefer the milk with sodium chloride. I kind of feel like that might not be the case since I’m not sure if she even has tastebuds yet.

Thank you
