SonyaHi Carly,
My son is 9 months, and I also had the hardest timebetween breastfeeding and giving the salt. I ended up exclusively pumping, until I couldn’t take it any more and we went to formula. (I have a 2 year old and couldn’t keep up with the pumping and feedings both) I think I would still be pumping if he was my only child. Anyways, I think if you want to nurse that you may have to syringe the salt solution directly into her mouth and then breastfeed her the rest of the time. I think I remember for both of my kids that as they became more aware of their surroundings that they wanted to look around, stop and start eatting, and start doing more of their own thing, and a bottle lets them do that a little more freely. Besides the fact that it’s easier to get milk out of :)
So basically, I think there’s still hope, if you’re willing to get rid of the bottles for a while and figure out a different way to give the salt. Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions. I just finished going through some of this myself and it’s always a new adventure. Congratulations on your daughter!
