sandraHi,
I have an idea that I think I read on this board before. When you put him on the breast have the sodium chloride in a needless syringe and slowly squeeze the fluid in while he is eating. If he likes the taste of the salt then he might start eating. If he doesn’t then....I don’t know. I have 4 boys, the youngest two with CAH. I nursed both but was lucky in that I didn’ t have to continue the salt supplement. I didn’t feel that he needed and he absolutely hated it any way I gave it to him. He looked like a slug that you pour salt on when I gave it to him. It was bad! So I stopped and told the doctor to up his florinef or increase his cortef because this kid would not take the salt. She didn’t raise either and he did fine without the extra salt. Maybe you should ask the doctor if the sodium choloride is really necessary.
Just a thought,
Sandra
