Any child who enters puberty as such a young age should be checked for precocious puberty. If your child has CAH, it can be a condition secondary to the CAH. My daughter is a slight salt waster CAHer and she also developed precocious puberty. Not only do you have to worry about the obvious - having a child go through that stage of life physically before they are ready emotionally - it can also greatly affect their adult height. It can cause the growth plates to close much too quickly resulting in very short stature. It can be easily treated with a monthly injection called Lupron. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. My daughter took the shots fromthe age of 5 to the age of 13 and she is 5’-31/2" tall. ( do not have CAH and am only 5’ tall.kay
