HopeGav has SWCAH, but just doesn’t seem to pick up much of anything that is going around. He’s recently been exposed to a child with Pertussis, so I have my fingers crossed that his good luck in the health dept with hold out.
His crisis experience was similar to the one you described; just lethargic and not interested in anything... he did vomit a couple of times and could not hold down an oral stress dose. That was a large part of the reason we resorted to the shot. The other was the wise words of one of the moms on this board... I can’t remember her name, but she has lost a daughter to CAH. She said "You won’t hurt them by giving the shot, but there are no second chances if you wait too long." I’ve heard the same from my doctor, but somehow hearing that from another mom puts a different perspective on it.
Thanks for sharing your experience; it’s good to know that someone else has seen the same thing and identified it as a crisis. Glad to hear it all turned out well.
