I am a 19 year old female who was diagnosed with CAH when I was 7 years old. I was put on Prednisone and Florineff at after they took my adrenal glands out. When they got my medicine under control my weight topped out at 95lbs. I was skinny. Then when I turned 14 I gained about 20lbs out of no where which I guess I could have used it. Now I am 19 and starting to gain weight again. I have reached a weight of 150-155lbs and I am swollen all the time. I am tired all the time. The doctors here in Louisville, KY (where I live) told me to start taking my medicine in the morning, so I did. Now when I am only a couple hrs late on my medicine I get sick to my stomach, like nausea. I am going up to Indianapolis to see (hopefully) a better doctor on Friday. Last year they did a test to see if i had adrenal rest tissue, but didn’t find anything. The doctors keep blowing me off. After that test they just let my problems drop and they just seem to get worse. If anyone has any thought to this, idea to what could be going on, some personal experience they went through I would appreciate it greatly. I feel like they will never figure out whats going on with me and thats very frustrating.
