Hi,

My daughter is 13 and this has happened many times. They are overheating. I stress dose her immeadiately and cross my fingers she doesn’t throw up. She plays competitive sports and for us big time gatorade seems to work best. She never even drinks water at practice anymore, just gatorade. That seems to help. She is also learning when to slow down. She s to be different than the other s, but she needs to know it’s life threatening. We’ve moved her from the field to goalie to save on the heat. She has thrown up after overheating and we inject the solu-cortef and play it by ear to see if she should ER it or not. Usually she can stay home, but looks gray/green for the night. It’s hard because even at 13 she’s still a kid. The competitive thing makes it hard for her to stop pushing until it’s too late. I would definately send in the gatorade. On gym days she’ll bring it with her to school. My best to you.
