Hey Grethcen,

My son is not old enough for school yet, but I must say I am truly upset about the way you have been treated.  As a teacher myself I just want to say that no teacher has any right to tell you anything medical about your child.  The line you wrote about someone telling you "My sister is a nurse and she says NO one can be on steroids for life!"  is completely out of line as far as that teacher was concerned and should never have been said to you.  I am glad to hear that your daughter is doing well as far as her studies and that her IEP is supporting her.  Since I know your daughter is probably enjoying public school and doesn’t want to be home taught, please let me offer one small bit of advice.  If the situation comes up next year where you are feeling less than supported by her teachers, take it to the building principal (you may want to let the principal know about the situation this year as well).  I truly hope everything turns around for your daughter as far as her health goes.  Just remind yourself, only a few more days until the end of the school year.
