re: Eczema & CAH

My son, who has SWCAH, has had eczema since he was about 7 months old.  We’ve found that Elidel works better for him than Hydrocortizone cream; I originally requested Elidel because it does not contain steroids.  I have noticed that the eczema clears away completely any time he has been stress dosed, but so far the Pediatrician and Endo are unable to tell me why this is.

We haven’t ever stress dosed him because of the eczema.  We just manage it by making sure that his skin is always moisturized and using the Elidel when it flares up.  If it’s on her face near her mouth, it may continue to be quite red until she passes the ’drooly’ stage.  It will be beneficial to her if you’ll dry the skin well, apply whatever treatment cream you are using, then apply something that will act as a moisture barrier, such as Vaseline ( the aloe kind is great).  We love Little Faces moisturizing stick that is made by Gerber, but it is becoming very difficult to find.
