First and formost, I am so sorry to hear of the death of your grandson, I too lost a child (son), not from CAH but from other causes. 

I don’t know about the morality rate, but I sure hope that it has come along way.  Because I do have a grandson with SWCAH. 

From reading the postings, it does seem that the children grow up and are very successful and healthy.  There are a lot of adults with CAH on this site.  Which I am sure they can and will explain about CAH much better than I can.
