In some ways, I do homeschool.  They pay the tutor for 1 hour to compensate for 1 day of school missed.  She works hard with Sam, and if extra time is needed, she takes it.  I also try to work at home with ther, on subjects that I can.  I’ll bet I could teach some of the fifth grade classes at her school with all of the materials I have, now!!  Samantha just loves school and her friends, there.  I will not take that away from her, if at all possible.  She spends enough time at home doing school work and at the library, etc.

My pregnancy was high risk because of my diabetes.  I also had another pregnancy after Sam, where another severe (unrelated to CAH) birth defect affected the baby.  The baby did not make it.  I often wonder about the diabetes/CAH relation.  I know that with type ! diabetes, your immune system is not at all healthy...something to do with enzymes and insulin attacking the immune system, (or something like that.)  I am sure I am a carrier..doesn’t both mother and father have to be to produce an affected child with CAH?

We have an IEP meeting this Friday morning.  I have constructed an Emergency Letter, using a guide of the one given at www.caresfoundation.com and I have added more info to it.  She starts junior high school next year.  Hopefully, we can start out on the right foot...although, now we are deling with 7 teachers, and a lot more staff!!!  Lord help us!!
