PCO - Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Girls don’t menstruate regularly and they develop cysts on their ovaries. I don’t know if early puberty causes PCO or if the same underlying condition causes both but they’re linked. I don’t think the hormones in milk and meat are causing early puberty. There was a women on I think this board who is some kind of biologist who pointed out that if we want to give kids growth hormones you have to inject it because it breaks down in the digestive system. So these hormones can’t survive in the meat or milk. And I also gave my daughter organic milk (ironic isn’t it). It’s also somewhat genetic but I didn’t get my period until I was 12 and my daughter got her’s at 10 1/2. And what is early puberty is a tough question. I think 8 is definitely young. After that - 9 or 10 - it gets a little fuzzier. I think it also depends on how fast it’s progressing, bone age, etc. My daughter never had advanced bone age so she was able to get to 5’2" which is not very short for a woman.bonnie
