Metformin is a drug used for people with non-insulin diabetes and also insulin-resistance.  Is your son really that heavy that he needs to take a drug such as this or is there some other way that the weight could be lost or increase in exercise rather than using drugs all the time. I know how hard it is to lose weight with CAH but for a 10 yo boy this is drastic. Talk to the dr again
