Hi Karen---

Thanks for responding. Let me be perfectly clear in that they (the school department) haven’t said anything about excluding him. Their stand was just that there would be no medical personel there for him in the event of an emergency. At it stands now, by law, a school nurse goes on every field trip or out-of-building activity that he has been part of since kindergarten. This was so that I would be ensured that she would be there to administer an emergency injection immediately, if need be.  I understand I am very lucky in this respect because I often read on this MB that others are not so fortunate with medical care for their children while they are at school. I never have had to fight (so to speak) for this - thie is what they told me would occur. In my state, it is the law to protect him in this fashion as CAH is life-threatening. I was just curious as to whether this same coverage is the law for AFTER school activities, such as sports, since some sports are considered school-based activities. I have a message in to our Department of Education. Hopefully, I will get a reponse soon. I just wanted to reiterate that the school said absolutely nothing about his being excluded - they just told me that I would have to go to all the practices and games if I felt concerned, seeing it was after the end of the school day. Thank you for your suggestoin again. Take are!
