trip to ER
Jun. 7th, 2005   12:27pm

We had to take our 12 yr old swcah daughter to the ER yesterday.  She hasnt felt well for a few days but had no real symptoms of anything.  She just told us she was feeling "achey" (sp?)  Then yesterday she woke with a fever of 102 and chills.  We took her to her regular pediatrician and he swabbed her throat and did a urine test.  Nothing abnormal.

He called the endo who had us give her the steroid shot and he had us take her to the ER since she was still vomitting.  They did their usual blood work and gave her iv fluids.  The shot pepped her up and about 8 hrs later she was feeling a lot better but still not 100%.

By the way... the blood work showed her white count "high" but they chalked it up to the high dose of sterioids given.

We got home about 1030pm and she slept all night.  This morning she woke with a 100.8 and still following the instructions from the endo last nite we have her on a triple cortef dose.  She is nauseated but has not vommitted today.

Anyone have any comments about the white cell count and the ER attributing that high count to the steroid shot and not anything else.  I mean somthing is making her sick right???
