re: trip to ER

First of all, we just went through this virus the first week in May. My daughter had it first. Then I got it. She didn’t get the chills though but everything else with it. She had the fever, the vomitting, the diarrehea, a nasty cough and a runny nose. It was really the weekend from hell. Then I got it. I had the chills with mine and all the other nice diddies that came with it. I am still coughing as a matter of fact. Ironically I donated my blood three days before I got so sick. When you donate blood they take like 3 vials of blood to test for HIV, syphilis (sp?), West Nile virus (virus from mosquitos), and I think some other. Maybe hepatitis. Whatever they were, I had a false positive come back on one. I knew I didn’t have the list of virus they tested for without a doubt. They took the blood sample and did a further test and the test came out negative. So I was right. When I talked to Red Cross they said that a false positive test can be caused by many things. One of them was coming down with something. I guess that sent my white blood count high, confusing the tests they put my blood through. I am no doctor but I think the white blood cell count was high because your daughter was already fighting off this bug. I assume that is what your body does from what I remember that educational cartoon showed us on "Magic School Bus". (ok so I watch way too much TV) But the cartoon showed what happens inside a body when it gets sick. I don’t know, maybe someone else can enlighten us. I hope she is doing better. I will send up a prayer for her.
